New Year's Eve in Atins has two rhythms. At Buriti, the countdown is quiet: a chalet with a private pool, a deck and breakfast served with no one else around. In the village, there are parties from 29 December to 2 January. Privacy when you want it, company when you feel like it.
A quiet New Year
Buriti is a house of seven units set in 2,000 m² of gardens, and rest comes first. In the two 66 m² Buriti Private chalets, the pool is all yours. In the Buriti Boutique bungalows, the stone pool, the pergola, the day beds and the sunset rooftop are a few steps away. The regional breakfast is served when you like.
If you come to rest, you find silence. If you want to celebrate, the beach and the village programme are a few minutes' walk away, and you come back to a quiet house.
New Year's Eve parties in Atins (2026/2027)
If you want to celebrate out, these are the parties already announced in the village. They are all run by their organisers, who sell the tickets and may change the programme. The beach is a few minutes' walk from the pousada.
Réveillon Atins 2027
The seventh edition of the countdown party, on 31 December from 7 pm, facing the sea at the Vila Guará pousada, at the main entrance to the beach. It is produced by 2nd Floor, with DJs and a band, and there are two ticket types: Pé na Areia (on the sand) and Deck Gourmet, which includes a buffet. Information and tickets (in Portuguese).
Réveillon Charme Atins 2027, "Pois Bem, Cheguei"
Two parties at Rancharia Charme Beach. On 31 December from 9 pm, "Pro Dia Nascer Feliz", with Bhaskar, Os Tropix and DJ Blemmes with Vini Netto on sax, open bar and open food. On 2 January from 9 pm, "Demorô", with Liu, Chemical Surf, DJ Memê and Rooftime. Line-up and tickets (in Portuguese).
Réveillon dos Lençóis 2027, "Travessia das Águas"
A multi-day programme by the producer O Selo 102, with free-entry moments and ticketed ones:
- 29 Dec, 9 pm · Samba e Brasilidades: ticketed.
- 30 and 31 Dec, from 9 am · Bar da Praia: free entry, with DJs through the day.
- 31 Dec, 5 pm · O Último Pôr do Sol (the last sunset): inside the National Park, with its own ticket. Alcohol is not allowed inside the park.
- 31 Dec, 10 pm · Festa da Virada (the countdown party): on Atins beach, ticketed, until sunrise.
- 2 Jan, from 9 am · Bar da Praia: free entry. At 10 pm, "O Primeiro Sabadão do Ano", ticketed.

What Atins is like at the end of the year
December is the end of the dry season: little rain, strong sun, temperatures between 26 and 32 °C and wind, mostly in the afternoon. In the dunes, the larger and permanent lagoons remain; the lagoons are fullest from June to September, as our month-by-month calendar shows. The wind makes the end of the year a good time for kitesurfing.
Dates and booking
The village programme runs from 29 December to 2 January, and the minimum stay at Buriti is 2 nights. There are seven units: five bungalows for up to 2 guests each and two 66 m² chalets with a private pool, for up to 3 guests. New Year's Eve is the busiest date of the year and there are few units, so it is worth securing your dates early. Getting here
Fly to São Luís, drive about four hours to Barreirinhas and, from there, go down the Preguiças River by speedboat, in about an hour, or by 4x4 across the sand, in about an hour and a half. Boats only run in daylight, so leave Barreirinhas by mid-afternoon. Transport is in high demand at the end of the year: arrange your transfer early.
