Set in Atins, the Buriti is a refuge where architecture speaks with the landscape, and privacy speaks with silence.
Pousada Buriti Atins brings together five bungalows (Buriti Boutique) and two chalets with private pools (Buriti Private) across 2,000 m² of gardens, steps from the dunes and lagoons of the Lençóis Maranhenses in Maranhão, Brazil. Regional breakfast included and served at your time, a stone pool, a sunset rooftop, and direct booking with the house.
Atins is a small sand-street village at the edge of the Lençóis Maranhenses. Dunes that turn into lagoons, wind that draws the ground, a horizon that seems not to end. The Buriti sits steps away from all of it.

On Rua da Alegria in Atins — a sand-street village in the municipality of Barreirinhas, Maranhão, at the gateway to Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. The dunes and lagoons are a few steps from the pousada.
The nearest airport is São Luís (SLZ). From there to Barreirinhas it is about 260 km by road, roughly 4 hours. From Barreirinhas to Atins you travel by 4x4 (about 1h30) or by speedboat down the Preguiças River (about 1 hour). Our team advises on and recommends transfers — just message us on WhatsApp.
The lagoons between the dunes are usually full from May/June to September, right after the rainy season (January to May). From October to December the weather is drier and windier, with open skies and fewer lagoons — ideal for those seeking wind and silence. Atins is welcoming all year round.
There are 7 units. At Buriti Boutique, 5 bungalows around the pool — Comfort (approx. 31 m²) and Master (approx. 37 m²), with a queen bed, air conditioning, Nespresso and mini-fridge, for up to 2 guests. At Buriti Private, 2 independent 66 m² chalets with a private pool integrated into the bedroom, full kitchen, gourmet area, king bed and sofa bed, for up to 3 guests.
Yes. The regional breakfast is included in the rate and prepared individually, served between 7 and 10 am at the time we agree with you — in your bungalow or outdoors. Couscous, tapioca, eggs made to order, fresh juices and seasonal fruit, adapted to your dietary needs.
Check-in from 2 pm and check-out by 12 pm (noon). Depending on the period there may be a 2-night minimum stay — check availability for your dates.
Yes: free Wi-Fi, free parking for cars and quad bikes, a stone pool in organic shapes, a hot tub, a sunset rooftop, spa and gardens. Buriti Private guests also enjoy all the shared areas of Buriti Boutique.
Yes, small pets are welcome on prior request when booking. A one-off fee of R$ 300 per stay applies (total, not per night).
Yes. Children under 10 stay at no extra charge; from age 10 the adult rate applies. Parents or guardians are fully responsible for children's safety, especially around the pools.
